The 2nd edition of the awards saw pathbreaking CIOs being honoured for their transformational acumen and innovative implementations.
A grand evening celebrating the second edition of CORE Media’s Hospitality and Healthcare Honours (HHH), in the Healthcare segment, took place this year on August 19, 2017. The awards were a part of CIO Crown 2017, held at Novotel Imagica near Mumbai.
The HHH (Healthcare) Awards 2017 look a the transformational and disruptive projects that an ICT leader has implemented within the last year, creating a benchmark in innovative strategy and implementation. The awards were presented in three categories—Digital Innovation, EMR Adoption, and SMAC. The independent industry jury, comprising Vikas Gadre, CN Ram, Anil Khopkar, and Anil Jaggia, took into account five key criteria such as the project, its implementation, impact, innovation, and coverage before selecting the winners. The applications were evaluated independently on each criterion on a nine point scale and a composite score was arrived at, based on which, nine winners were selected across the three categories.
“Through the applications we found out about the numerous innovations and IT initiatives being undertaken in the healthcare sector,” said jury member Anil Khopkar. “These initiatives are helping medical professionals and doctors provide improved services and save lives. The CIOs were professionally judged on the basis of five key criteria, besides the proactive interactions and conversations we had with them. The winners were then selected after a comprehensive debate among the jury members.”
Jury member Vikas Gadre added, “This year’s nominees were extremely impressive, as the projects implemented not only had a significant business impact, but a social one as well, with one of the winners setting up a virtual clinic to reach out to patients in rural areas. The awards will act as a mark of approval that sets them above the rest and cements their position as IT pathbreakers in the healthcare domain.”
Thanks in part to continuous technological advancements the Indian healthcare industry has been experiencing a rapid expansion and increase in its global significance. With this in mind, the HHH (Healthcare) Awards 2017 recognised the work done by ICT leaders in utilising technological innovations, information and communications technology and infrastructure technology in delivering outstanding patient service, while improving patient relations and business operations.
“HHH (Healthcare) Awards recognise and honour outstanding achievements and professional excellence in the fields of Technological Innovation, Information and Communications Technology, Digital and Infrastructure Technology,” said Anoop Mathur, Founder and President, CORE Media. “The winners of this year’s awards are ground-breaking innovators leveraging these implementations to improve customer service and drive business growth. They are the drivers of change, setting the benchmark with their vision and transformational business strategies. I congratulate all of this year’s winners and look forward to the disruptions these IT leaders bring.”
Digital innovation in the healthcare industry is the need of the hour, being the primary driver in improving business and operational efficiency through multiple digital payment modes, patient services, digitisation of medical records, etc. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) not only help eliminate the need for patients to be physically present at hospitals or clinics, but also allow doctors and medical practitioners to have all the information at the tip of their fingers in an easy to use, comprehensive application, whenever necessary. On the other hand, Social, Mobile, Analytics, and Cloud, which make up SMAC, have become the key contributors in driving marketing and outreach for organisations, improving digital hospital deployment and developing mobile solutions for patients including apps, tracking systems, etc and easing the process of patient-doctor interactions.
