Pune, Maharashtra, May 2018
The 4th edition of CIO POWER LIST with Knowledge Partner KPMG recognised outstanding ICT leaders setting new benchmarks and playing a vital role in shaping technology debates and facilitating an exchange of business ideas. This league of extraordinary CIOs has embraced transformation through a process of continuous digital discovery.
This year over 100 CIOs were honoured in 40 categories across two segments—Technology Icons and Business Icons. Some of the verticals covered included IoT, Intelligent Bots and Robotic Process Automation, Cloud, Banking, Healthcare and Pharma, Manufacturing, and Media and Entertainment.
CIO POWER LIST 2018 awardees are influential, ambitious ICT leaders leveraging disruptive technologies to create new opportunities for business growth while driving a dramatic transformation of their industry.
“Congratulations to all the CIO POWER LIST 2018 winners! The list features truly visionary leaders who are ever evolving, pushing the business transformation agenda to new heights and dominating the technology and corporate landscapes. They wield their power and influence with a keen awareness of the enormous potential technology holds to change and shape the way the world functions. The ICT stalwarts in this inner circle are the source of hope and inspiration for the next generation, optimising technological innovation for a competitive advantage. The digital future is secure with these masterminds leading the way forward,” says Anoop Mathur, Founder and President, CORE Media.
CIO POWER LIST 2018 was held across May 4 and 5 at the Conrad Pune. The winners are selected on the basis of a unique algorithm developed using a wide range of data collected on CIOs from multiple channels. These include the CIOs online reputation, business publications and technology magazines, achievements, awards, honours and recognitions won, a random sampling of social media engagements, and a nation-wide survey of CIO peers. Additionally there are inputs from the CIO himself/herself on their key moments in the last year.
“CIO POWER LIST as an event brings together CIOs from different industry verticals providing them with opportunities to build business connections, learn from experiences of fellow CIOs, other professionals on relevant and contemporary topics. The event also recognises CIOs for their initiatives. I wish CIO POWER LIST all the success going forward,” says Kunal Pande, Partner, KPMG.
Kiran Komatla, Vice President IT (Head IT), Burger King India Pvt Ltd, was awarded as a Mobility Icon at CIO Power List 2018.
“Today’s CIOs have multiple roles to play and take rolling leadership responsibilities in transforming their organisation. They need to have an in-depth understanding of the organisational interdependence in order to fine-tune business structures and improve the strategic responsiveness of the business. Running the tech team as a business enabler along with understanding the true business needs, strengthens the weak links in the organisation and improves the business top-line growth,” said Kiran Komatla, Vice President IT (Head IT), Burger King India Pvt Ltd.
