- HPE and Wipro team up to provide consumption based IT to aid customers’ digital transformation
The agreement extends the long standing partnership between the two firms to improve their IT services repertoire.
On Monday, July 3, in a major announcement, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and global IT, Consultation, and BPS provider Wipro Limited entered into an agreement to form a new global go-to-market, that would offer on-premises IT infrastructure at flexible consumption-based pricing to both of its customers. The team up would help the companies jointly meet the rising demands for consumption based IT by combining Wipro’s infrastructure-as-a-service offerings with HPE’s Flexible Capacity.
In the current age, besides ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations, IT organisations also need to be able to constantly develop new applications, processes and services designed to promote business innovation. In light of this, the IT-as-a-service model has made several enterprises adopt the public cloud model in order to meet these demands, as it lets them pay only for the technology resources they actually use. However, there are certain workloads which need to be kept on-premises, as they are not be suitable for the public cloud, in lieu of needing higher security, compliance and service levels. The new partnership, in this case, would provide customers with the same benefits and affordability through an on-premises solution.
Being a strategic and high-growth component of HPE Pointnext, HPE Flexible Capacity is a unique Hybrid IT service offered by the organisation that is proficient in simplifying Hybrid IT and improving IT intelligence. With a partnership of over 20 years, the industry leadership and business benefits of Wipro, along with the product and services portfolio of HPE is expected to help both companies provide market specific technology and services offerings that would immensely benefit their customers in their journey of digital transformation.
