- Ericsson India launches all new dual band radio products to improve 3G and 4G network service
The enhanced network solutions are expected to massively improve mobile broadband connectivity in the country.
On Tuesday, May 23, Swedish communication technology major Ericsson announced the launch of a range of customised network solutions for the Indian market, which are built to help service providers provide a superior customer experience, while increasing their capacity, being energy efficient, and bringing down operating costs, thereby increasing the usage of 3G and 4G network in the country.
The all new dual band radio products include the “Wideband Radio 2242”, which is a single radio unit transmitting on two different spectrum bands, 1800MHz and 2100MHz, besides three standards and “Dual Band Radio Dot” that brings about a considerable spike in indoor mobile broadband connectivity.
Nitin Bansal, Head of Network Products, Ericsson India, stated that the latest range of dual band radio solutions had been built to assist Indian operators meet the increasing demand, by scaling up their capacity, while also enhancing outdoor and indoor coverage, thereby bringing down operational costs considerably.
Not only does the “Wideband Radio 2242” help operators build concise dual-band, triple standard sites using the least amount of hardware resources, it also takes up half the space, and its implementation is a lot quicker and simpler. On the other hand, the “Dual Band Dot” makes implementation a lot easier, reduces the cabling cost, and efficiently utilises the available spectrum by incorporating both the 1800MHz and 2100MHz frequency bands into a single form factor.
