Deena Dayalan K, Head of IT and Infosec, SHI, named Retail Icon in the 3rd edition of CIO Power List 2017

Mumbai, Maharashtra, May 7, 2017– CIO POWER LIST 2017 with knowledge partner KPMG honoured the country’s most influential and powerful CIOs during the first week of May. The event recognised CIOs who are changing the IT landscape with their executive excellence, innovative strategies and technology foresight to drive business growth and transformation in dynamic markets.

Deena Dayalan K, Senior Director and Vertical Head – IT and Information Security, Sears Holdings India, was announced a Retail Icon.

“Sears Holdings has embarked upon the journey of transformation to drive member-centric business goals. The offline and online retail space is changing faster than technology can cope up with. Through a strategic shift in infrastructure with the support of cutting-edge technology, we have managed to smoothly aid in this transformation. I am thankful to CORE Media and KPMG for recognising my contribution to the retail space,” said Deena Dayalan K, Senior Director & Vertical Head – IT & Information Security, Sears Holdings India.

More than 100 CIOs were honoured in over 39 categories that ranged across various business verticals such as BFSI, Agro Tech, Pharma, Automobiles; and Technology verticals like Analytics, DCIM, Intelligent bots, RPA, IoT, and Transformation.

“The CIO POWER LIST 2017 winners are CIOs and ICT leaders who influence the way technology is perceived and used across the business landscape. Their ability to map digital omnichannel solutions often in turmoil situations sets them apart from the rest,” says Anoop Mathur, Founder and President, CORE Media.

Winners were chosen on the scale of influence and power within their organisation, the industry, and beyond, through an algorithm that ran on data collected from multiple channels. These included the CIO’s online reputation, business publications and technology magazines, awards, honours and recognitions won, achievements, a random sampling of social media engagements, a nation-wide survey of CIO peers and inputs from the shortlisted CIOs on their key moments last year.

“CIO POWER LIST 2017 brings together leading technologists of the country and provides an excellent forum for exchanging ideas and points of view. The panel discussions and sessions were quite thought-provoking and intense with a number of emerging themes that helped understand some of the expected future developments,” says Rohan Padhi, Director, KPMG.
