Find out all that happened at the 5th CIO Choice—a night of extravagance and celebration in all its glory. By Satyaki Sarkar
January 6 saw the who’s who of the ICT community arrive at The Lalit in Mumbai for the fifth edition of CIO Choice. The theme for the night was the iconic The Godfather movie, and IT heads from all over the country walked the red carpet in sharp suits ready to rock the evening. On arrival, they were handed stylish fedora hats to complete the look. They then took turns to sit in the leather armchair of Vito Corleone, armed with one of the prop guns, and showcased their inner Godfather for the cameras.
This year marked a milestone in the CIO Choice journey as it was the fifth year of the recognitions. Like each year, CIO Choice honoured ICT vendors who had won the trust and confidence of CIOs with their products and services. This year saw quite a bit of competition between vendors with over 200 entries from public and private companies coming in. The recognitions are coveted as they represent the CIOs’ stamp of approval and trust.
An advisory panel of the country’s tops CIOs was put together to monitor the selection process. The winners were decided through an independent CIO voting survey conducted across the country. ICT vendors were judged on product performance, customer satisfaction, and continued customer service. This year, recognitions were awarded in 52 categories, with 28 ICT brands taking away the top honour. These brands can now leverage the CIO Choice recognition to open up new avenues for media campaigns and increase their reach within the market.
The highlight of the evening was the CIO Fashion Runway. Industry stalwarts walked the ramp with beautiful fashion week models. Oozing class and charisma, the CIOs were every bit the showstoppers as their lovely companions, confident and effortless, matching each step. The models showcased colourful creations from designers Pranjal Kadkade, Madhusmita Panda, Nishank Sainani, and Archana Manchala. Making the CIOs dance to their beat all evening was the band FUZE. They performed a medley of hits that were a fusion of Pop, Bollywood Rock, Indian Folk, Reggae, Blues, and Indian Classical.
The night ended with cocktails and an elaborate dinner where CIOs caught up with their peers and friends, made new connections and created lasting memories that had them eagerly looking forward to future CORE Media events.
