The technology veteran will now be based at the automotive major’s headquarters in Japan.
Nissan Motor Co Ltd today announced the appointment of Anthony Thomas as its Chief Information Officer, Global IS/IT. Thomas is joining Nissan after a two-year stint at GE Global as the Group CIO. He now joins the automotive major at its office in Yokohama, Japan, and will report to CEO Hiroto Saikawa.

During his stint at GE Global, Thomas handled information technology and digital initiatives for all markets apart from the US, and was instrumental in driving digital transformation and global shared services. Prior to joining GE, Thomas had a number of key positions at Vodafone, Citigroup, Ernst & Young, etc, among other leading organisations. He has also held leadership roles in Management Consulting, and Business Operations. Thomas is an active advisor, mentor and angel investor in the startup ecosystem, and is one of the founding members of CIO Angel Network (CAN).
