The recently concluded auto show in Delhi saw over 100 new product launches, we introduce you to the top eight.

The VitaraBrezza is Maruti Suzuki’s first sub-compact SUV in India and in fact the project has been spear headed by Indian engineers. The Brezza, like the Baleno, will be made in India and exported to other countries including Japan. To be launched in India by April 2016, the VitaraBrezza will be priced between Rs5 to 8 lakh.
#2 Ford MustangThe much-awaitedsixth generation of the American muscle car will soon be launched in India, but it was the star of the Ford stall at the 2016 Auto Expo. With 435bhp coming out of this pony car, the Mustang will be the company’s most expensive car in India. The India-spec Ford Mustang GT will arrive via CBU and it’s expected to have a price tag of around Rs60 lakh.
#3 Hyundai TucsonThisthird generation of the premium compact SUVwas showcased at Auto Expo 2016 and it bridge the gap between the Creta and Santa Fe in Hyundai’s Indian SUV line-up. While India is familiar with the Tucson, the new one promises to be more premium and better on performance. The car will be launched in India this year and will compete with the likes of the Nissan X-Trail and the Honda CR-V.
#4 Toyota InnovaCrystaToyota showcased the new face of the Innova in Indonesia and now the car is all set to be introduced to India. The second generation of the MPV will here by June 2016 and will be more up market than the previous gen. Toyota has made a number of changes to the exterior and interior of the MPV, which makes it look more premium and sophisticated. We hope that there are a host of changes made to the driving dynamics as well. Expect the price to start around Rs 11 lakh.
#5 Audi R8 V10 PlusThe new Audi R8 is a real looker and comes with a single-frame front grille with a honeycomb pattern, flanked by standard flat LED head-lights or optional laser lighting clusters. It is one of the fastest, most powerful Audi’s in the country. With 610 bhp at its disposal, the R8 can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds before topping out at 330 km/h. Audi launched the car at the Auto Expo and priced it at Rs 2.47 crore.
#6 Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee
We’ve waited for more than four years to see this brand in India and at the Jeep has finally made its debut in India. Jeep will first bring in the Grand Cherokee and the thorough bred off-roader, Wrangler, to India and both will come as CBUs. Jeep will be setting up separate dealerships and we expect more products to spawn out of this brand soon.
#7 Jaguar XEJaguar launched the most affordable saloon from its stable, the XE, in India and priced it at Rs 39.90 lakh. The company chose the 2016 Auto Expo to bring out the baby XF, which will rival the Germans in India. The Jaguar XE is based on an all-new monocoque platform made of 75 percent lightweight aluminium that helps in extensive weight savings. The powerful engines on offer just make it even better.
#8 Volkswagen Polo GTIIf you thought the Polo couldn’t get any better, well, Volkswagen thinks otherwise. Currently among the most popular hot hatches in the world, the Volkswagen Polo GTI is coming to India. Designed to suit the requirements of automotive enthusiasts, it is stylish and compact. The source of all the entertainment though is the turbocharged petrol engine has earned the Polo GTI a reputation for being among the most powerful, dynamic and thrilling carline in its class. Volkswagen will launch the hot hatch later this year and we’ll see it being priced around Rs 20 lakh.
