In honour of the country’s 71st year of independence, Hilton Mumbai International Airport had organised a “Taste of India” promotion festival from August 9 to August 14, featuring a unique, mouth watering cuisine from a specific state each day. However, on August 15, between 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm, it is offering an Independence Day brunch, which would have an extensive menu comprising of all those cuisines and more! Expect a vast menu comprising of authentic Awadhi, delectable Rajasthani, spicy Punjabi, gastronomic Goan, savoury South Indian and mouth-watering Maharashtrian cuisines that would take you on a culinary journey like no other.

Chef Shahnawaz Quereshi is going to take you on a culinary journey of the flavours of India this Independence Day, with a special buffet of regional specialities at JW Marriott’s Lotus Cafe, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The menu will include mouth watering delicacies like Batatechi Bhaji and Mutton Sukkha from the foothills of the Sahyadri, Chicken Pepper Fry and Avial from Kerala, Laal Maas and Gatte Ki Sabji from Rajasthan and more, while each table will also receive a complimentary hamper consisting of Quereshi’s famous Boondi Khoya Pudding and a bottle of vodka!

5. 3rd Annual Independence Day Daawat, The Bombay Canteen
This year, The Bombay Canteen has brought for you an Independence Day celebration of a different kind. Starting at 11:30 am, the third instalment of the annual Independence Day Daawat will bring a vast range of regional dishes from all over the country courtesy of Chef Floyd Cardoz, served on banana leaves, in the style of the traditional Indian thali, for you to feast on. However, that’s not all, in line with the celebration of freedom, you can pay as much as you feel like, and all the proceeds go towards a noble cause. The money will be donated to Miracle Foundation India, which works tirelessly for making the lives of orphaned children better.
